Four Canadians and an Aussie, all staying at the same hostel, went to a bar called Tootsie's last night. I'm not big on country music (at all!), but lemme tell ya. This city shows its visitors a good time.
I drank Sam Adam's. It was that or any of the Bud or Miller brands -- gross. I think that strip of Nashville is so tourist-heavy that they just cater to the average Joe Plumber. In the U.S., I guess that means crappy beer.
My name is Nick Taylor-Vaisey. I have an undergrad degree in political science and a few clippings in newspapers and magazines around Canada. I live in Ottawa.
I saved some money this summer and, with minimal planning and as much spontaneity as I can muster, I am setting off on a 30-day bus voyage across (parts of) North America.
Ambitious, I know. How can anyone hope to appreciate Canada's east coast and America's eastern seaboard, gulf coast, and west coast while peering out the windows of a Greyhound bus?
Well, follow along and see how I do. I have a camera and expect to see a few friends along the way. There might even be some cameos.

And what, pray tell, was the local brew of choice? ADL - Always Drink Local, 'cause you can't get it at the LCBO, fer sure.

Samuel Jackson: It'll get ya drunk.
Nick, it was fun hanging out with you at Tootsies. You say you don't like country Music, but I saw how much of a rocking good time you had.
