The student newspaper at Tulane University, the Hullabaloo, is impressive. It's a weekly broadsheet, which just looks cool. It's not a daily like so many other American student papers. But who cares? The Hullabaloo has great content that makes up the difference.
Th stories are very thorough, and writers and editors quite obviously strive to cover both sides of their stories. Their editorial this week is also worth reading: reasonable, understandably harsh, and well written.
Go Tulane! (They're playing against LSU, who I presume are their rivals, this weekend at the Superdome.)

I like their paper name! What's a broadsheet?
Broadsheet is like the Ottawa Citizen (the term "above the fold" applies to these papers).
The Fulcrum is tabloid style.
There is another paper called a "berliner". Some student papers (like the Gateway) use it, and so do some bigger papers.
Best student newspaper name, ever.
Are they Hullaboolites?
Tulane -- very literate school, with low class sizes (average 23), highly literate population. Above the cut school, so I would expect an above the cut newspaper. Adult writing and interests, unlike one Atlantic Canadian university with which I am familiar...but I have said too much.
