How was "How did the States get their shapes?"? I've spent quite some time complaining about the apparent arbitrariness of the shapes of a lot of the states. Idaho - what is that?
Oh man, what a book. Lemme tell you, nothing is as arbitrary as it seems when it comes to state borders. Almost every border is there for a reason, and a lot of the time was the result of an angry and protracted dispute.I learned that any borders that don't make much sense, in the east anyways, can be blamed on a British inability to correctly identify lines of latitude.
Here's something partially related to your post. Look at these results from the election:http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mejn/election/2008/
For the trip home, might we recommend:William S. Burroughs, Leaving Las Vegas - or -H.W. Nevinson, Farewell to America- or -"Welcome Home" in Barbara Smith's Canadian Ghost Stories
Choke's not really Palahniuk's best in my opinion. Invisible Monster is better by far. I miss you. we have so much to talk about.-Kim
